Real estate is personal.

A home is more than just a place. It’s a launchpad. A landing zone. A legacy.

Purpose and pride

My real estate story doesn’t start with a job or a house. It begins in 1914 when my great-grandfather John Doody arrived in Calgary as a wide-eyed 17-year-old from England, ready to find work and build a new life.

Within months of arriving and with a sense of duty calling, he enlisted in Calgary’s famed 10th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, and set sail for France to fight in World War I.

John fought and survived every major battle of The Great War — from Ypres and Vimy Ridge to The Somme, Hill 70, Passchendaele and beyond — before returning to Calgary in 1919 to work for CP Rail and raise a family in the community of Inglewood.

Learning his story while I was raising my own family in Inglewood, living just steps from his former home, was a truly profound and purpose-building discovery at a time when I needed it most.

Modest starts to lakeside living

Fast forward a few generations, and my own incredible parents.

They raised my siblings and me with grit, humour, and a deep love for our city, in places that reflected their steady climb from humble beginnings in Bowness, Charleswood and Haysboro to the lakefront homes they worked exceptionally hard to earn.

Like many Calgarians, my parents ventured ever deeper south into promising new communities, from Woodlands and Deer Run to Midnapore, Sundance and Lake Chaparral.

We spent our summers swimming in the lakes and falling in love with Fish Creek Park; our winters tobogganing and skating straight out our back door. To look back as an adult and appreciate the childhood these communities provided is an understatement to be sure.

Big moves, big learns

After high school, I headed west to attend the University of British Columbia and swim for Canada’s national team. I went on to live and work in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto before returning home to Calgary — a journey that taught me what it really means to plant roots, build equity, and feel a sense of place.

At age 27, I became a reluctant first-time homeowner when my parents encouraged me to buy a 1955 bungalow in Killarney. My journalist salary didn't get me very far, but this little gem came with basement tenants, a crash course in real estate, and my first taste of what owning a home could mean for my freedom, security, and future.

That happy yellow house became a springboard for everything after: additional rental properties, hard landlord lessons, strategic flips, smart equity plays, move-ups with my own family. And, most notably, a deep love for what’s possible when you say yes to ownership in a place like Calgary.

Experience you can trust

Today I’m a licensed REALTOR®, but my work in real estate began long before. I spent more than two decades as a journalist, marketer, entrepreneur and business owner, leading teams and serving clients across home building, community development and urban planning.

From launching major residential communities and consulting with homebuilders and developers, to working in modular construction and co-founding Lodgepole Property Group alongside my husband Paul, I’ve seen and supported the industry from all sides.

I am a passionate advocate for financial literacy and freedom through real estate, and I know exactly what it means to find the right home. I’ve been:

  • 🏠

A renter, buyer, seller, investor, renovator, landlord and REALTOR®

  • 👛

    A cash-strapped 20 (and 30)-something trying to build equity

  • 👩‍🍼

A new parent craving community, stability and space

  • 💸

A business owner balancing life, work and big decisions

And now, I’m all in

After swearing off the suburbs at the ripe age of 17, I've circled the inner-city (and the country), and feel like I've hit the jackpot to find myself back in Calgary's deep south, in the family paradise that is Auburn Bay.

Real estate has been the throughline in my story — always there, always calling — and I’m thrilled to help others experience the same sense of possibility, stability and success, thanks to a career I fall more in love with each day.

Whether you’re buying your first place, relocating to Calgary, moving up, down, or preparing to sell, I’m here to bring strategy, heart, and a whole lot of local knowledge to your move.
